Norway Introduces Mandatory Helmet Rules for Certain ATV and Tractor Drivers

On 3 November, Norway announced a new helmet requirement for ATVs registered as tractors and certain tractors without driver protection capable of travelling above 30 km/h. The rule will apply from 1 January 2027 on both public and private roads, with specified occupational exemptions. The announcement follows 251 people being injured or killed in ATV accidents between 2020 and 2025. Businesses may need to review safety procedures and compliance requirements.
